Summary:

This report presents a generic guide and a modular training package for the development of national forest financing strategies building on the Global Forest Financing Facilitation Network’s 4-step approach. A national forest financing strategy is a document that strategically sets the stage for the mobilization of financing for Sustainable Forest Management and improvements in the effectiveness of resource use, within a given national or sub-national (jurisdictional) perimeter. Forest finance in this context refers to any type of financing, regardless of the source, that has a positive impact on sustainable forest management.
